Name: The Black Eyed Peas

Fans of hip hop would be hard pressed to find a more popular and talented group in music today than The Black Eyed Peas. Since the release of Elephunk in 2003, Fergie,, Taboo, and have sold out hundreds of tour dates around the world and released four multi-platinum albums. The Black Eyed Peas' international acclaim is partially due to hit singles like "My Humps", "Boom Boom Pow", and "The Time (Dirty Bit)" along with a style and sound that are on the cutting edge of mainstream music. The Black Eyed Peas only have a few tour dates left on their 2011 concert schedule, meaning fans should scramble quickly to see these hip hop icons. William Adams ( and Allan Pineda ( began rapping together in high school before being joined by Jaime Gomez (Taboo) nearly seven years later. They experienced moderate success with singer Kim Hill and various tracks ended up in movie soundtracks. Due to creative differences, Kim Hill left The Black Eyed Peas in 2000 and the band hired former Wild Orchid singer/rapper Stacy Ferguson (Fergie). With the addition of Fergie came the addition of a more futuristic style of hip hop that incorporated a more electronic sound. The sound became a hit on The Black Eyed Peas' 2003 album, Elephunk, as did the album's lead singles "Where Is the Love" and "Let's Get It Started"; the latter won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance By a Duo or Group. The following Elephunk Tour spread The Black Eyed Peas' fame worldwide, playing tour dates in Europe and Asia. The Black Eyed Peas would draw even greater crowds on tour dates after the release of Monkey Business in 2004. Led by singles like "My Humps" and "Don't Phunk With My Heart", Monkey Business went platinum four times and rose to the top of the charts all around the world. The Monkey Business Tour performed tour dates in even more exotic international locations and featured supporting artist Gwen Stefani. The Black Eyed Peas' 2009 album, The E.N.D. (short for The Energy Never Dies) featured the hit singles "Boom Boom Pow" and "I Gotta Feeling", and sold over 11 million copies. The group's latest release, The Beginning has continued The Black Eyes Peas' meteoric rise to fame while simultaneously creating a new chapter in the group's history. While some fans have been hesitant of the quartet's new sound, critics are recognizing the potential of The Black Eyed Peas' new direction. While The Black Eyed Peas have only three remaining tour dates on their 2011 concert schedule, fans can bet they'll make the most of them. After shows at Alton Towers in England, the Oxegen Festival in Dublin, and the Estadio Vicente Calderon in Madrid, The Black Eyed Peas will end their tour dates for the year. Fans in the UK, Ireland, and Span should buy their tickets quickly before The Black Eyed Peas disappear for the year.
